Friday morning the Lizards taught Larry Hoff, of Channel 11 Morning News, the basic fundamentals of lacrosse. Hoff who had never picked up a stick before learned from the best how to, pass and catch, shoot, run a fast-break and face off. The Lizards put on an excellent display from 6-9 am, and video footage can be seen by clicking here

Saturday morning started early again with the Lizards making an appearance at the Louis Acompora Jamboree at Northport High school. This is the annual showcase of high school lacrosse talent, dedicated to spreading the awareness of commotio cordis and prevention through public access defibrillation programs. It raises so much for a great cause and we have been involved for years with this event. The Lizards were present holding fastest shot contests and accuracy contest for the kids.

The Lizards then rushed back to Mitchel Athletic Complex where they held their first ever open tryouts in franchise history. The Lizards welcomed more than 80 players and there was no lack of talent. There were many players with previous MLL experience as well as a lot of local undiscovered talent. The Lizards drew players from, Florida, Utah, Wisconsin, Colorado and California. Players from the team came out and evaluated talent along with Head Coach Jim Mul?br />
The weekend did not stop there as we packed Dave & Busters in Westbury Lizards players, fans and potential players and sponsors went back to relax and enjoy some food and drinks. Dave & Busters is the host of the Official Post Game Party of the Long Island Lizards, where fans are always invited to meet the players and enjoy some food and entertainment after all Lizards home games.
